- Summary of this article：This study investigated the risk of post-injection endophthalmitis (PIE) associated with intravitreal anti-VEGF therapy using a large Danish registry. The incidence of PIE was found to be low and stable over time. However, the risk of PIE was significantly higher within the first three injections compared to subsequent injections.
- 論文の要約：高齢者の視覚障害の原因となる加齢黄斑変性等の網膜疾患に対する抗VEGF硝子体注射療法の進歩により診療が大きく向上しましたが、注射の反復に伴う眼内炎リスクが課題です。デンマーク全国レジストリデータを用いた調査で、眼内炎の発生率は低いものの、治療導入期（初回3回の注射）で頻度が高いことが判明しました。このため、導入期における感染予防とモニタリングの重要性を提言しました。
