- Summary of this article：This study developed and validated a Japanese version of the Assessing Competency in EBM (ACE) tool. Among 99 participants, the tool showed acceptable test-retest reliability (ICC = 0.64) and moderate correlation with the Fresno test but low internal consistency (Cronbach's alpha = 0.31). Confirmatory factor analysis provided partial validity. While quick to administer, the tool requires refinement to improve reliability for Japanese medical education. Future studies should explore improvements, including in-person administration, to enhance its robustness.
