Summary of this article:This study investigated the association between consumption of salt and high-salt foods and the
risks of oral, pharyngeal, and esophageal cancers using a large-scale nationwide cohort study in Japan (the JACC Study).
Among 42,535 men and women aged 40 to 79 years were included in the analysis. Over a median 14.4 -year follow-up, 145
incident cases were observed. High-salt consumption was associated with a higher risk of oral, pharyngeal, and
esophageal cancers combined (HR: 1.67), particularly oral and esophageal cancers. Among high-salt foods, miso soup is
positively associated with cancer risk. High-salt consumption was associated with a higher combined risk of oral,
pharyngeal, and esophageal cancers.

study)を用いて、塩分摂取量、⾼塩分⾷品と⼝腔咽頭⾷道がんの罹患との関連について検討した。40~79歳の男女42,535人を解析対象とし、中央値14.4年間追跡した結果、145名の罹患を認めた。塩分摂取量が多い群では、口腔咽頭食道がん全体のリスクが有意に高く(HR
1.67)、口腔がん、食道がんでも同様の傾向が認められた。⾼塩分⾷品については味噌汁の摂取で関連が認められた。⾼塩分摂取が⼝腔咽頭⾷道がん全体の罹患リスクを⾼める可能性が⽰唆された。
