- Summary of this article：In this prospective cohort of Korean high school students followed for an average of 2.5 years, higher cardiovascular health (CVH) scores were associated with lower odds of high carotid intima-media thickness (cIMT). CVH was assessed using six metrics from the American Heart Association’s Life’s Essential 8. Adolescents who maintained optimal CVH had approximately 50% lower odds of high cIMT compared to those who kept suboptimal CVH. When psychological health was added as an additional metric, the associations remained consistent. These findings underscore the importance of promoting cardiovascular health from adolescence
