- Summary of this article：This cohort study comparing COVID-19 and bacterial pneumonia patients on mechanical ventilation found that COVID-19 coagulopathy differs from septic DIC. Despite similar elevations in D-dimer and FDP, COVID-19 patients showed preserved platelet counts, antithrombin activity, and PT-INR. These findings suggest distinct mechanisms of coagulopathy and highlight the need for tailored management strategies in COVID-19.
