- Summary of this article：Our manuscript highlights suicide risk among foreign travelers without suicidal intent, which differs from the previously studied phenomenon known as “suicide tourism”. It emphasizes that psychological distress during travel—such as environmental changes, medication discontinuation, or communication barriers—can precipitate crises even in individuals without prior mental illness. We advocates integrating cross-border, point-of-care access to patient summaries such as MyHealth@EU and establishing standardized international protocols that ensure continuity from crisis intervention through repatriation and follow-up.
- 論文の要約：本稿は今まで研究が多かった”suicide tourism”といわれる自殺目的の旅行者とは異なる、旅行中の外国人（短期滞在者）における自殺リスクとその背景にある受診遅延・言語障壁・常用薬不携帯・診療情報の断絶に注目しました。MyHealth@EUのような国際的な患者情報共有の枠組みを参考に、救急現場で即時参照できる越境的な患者情報共有と、危機対応から帰国後まで見据えた連続的ケアの国際標準化を提案しています。
